Motorized Surfboard Racing Returns to Sebring Labor Day Weekend

Don’t Miss #SurfSebring on Aug. 31 + SeaBob Racing

SEBRING, Fla. (August 22, 2023) – The MotoSurf Games continue hosting motorized surfboard racing action in Sebring with a Labor Day weekend event full of fun and adrenaline. Lake Jackson’s City Pier Beach will host two forms of racing on September 1-3 with the MotoSurf Continental Cup and Seabob racing, which is a new addition this year.

MotoSurf racing was established in the Czech Republic in 2012. In its short history, MotoSurf racing has spread all over the world and will be part of the 2025 World Games in China making it one step closer to becoming an Olympic sport.

The Labor Day weekend festivities will kick off on Thursday, August 31 with #SurfSebring from 12:00 pm (Noon) to 8:00 pm.  #SurfSebring offers a free opportunity for the public, both kids and adults, to try the motorized surfboards that the pros compete on. It will be an open course concept where individuals can bring their family and friends to see the course, try out the Motosurf and Motoskate (motorized skateboards), and learn how each board works.

To try the motorized boards for free on Aug. 31, come to the Sebring Civic Center (355 W Center Ave.; behind the Sebring Public Library) from Noon-8pm to get registered. A CBS Sports television crew will be on site to capture #SurfSebring.

On Friday-Sunday, the pros will compete on motorized surfboards and seabobs (an electric-powered diving scooter) filling the rest of the race weekend’s schedule. A CBS Sports TV 30-minute post-event television show will be filmed throughout the event weekend and will air at a later date. The Continental Cup is brought to you by Visit Sebring in cooperation with the City of Sebring, Airstream Ventures and Jetsurf USA.
